A good looking car is always desired. But how do you make a car look good but still comfortable and safe to be used daily? Meaty fitment is one of the ways to achieve that.

What is meaty fitment then? To put it simply, this fitment is a fitment where the tires that are installed on to the rims are thick, like a steak, meaty and fat, that’s why people call it “meaty fitment”.

Meaty fitment is very suitable for daily use for some reasons. First, meaty fitment must have a set of thick tires that makes the rims more protected due to the extra cushion it provides. So your rims are safer from potholes or bad surfaces.

And thanks to the extra cushion, the ride will also be comfortable. This comfortness can’t be replicated with a suspension setup because the way suspension absorbs bumps are really different compared to tires.

The size of meaty fitment is variative because you have to remember, the thickness of the sidewall is determined in percentage with the tires width or aspect ratio. Usually, the thickness of the sidewall of a meaty fitment is around 100mm or 10cm.

The tires can also determine the looks of the fitment. Cars freak commonly use a semi-slick tire like the Accelera 651 Sport thanks to it beefy looks and the meaty size.

Apa sih itu meaty fitment? Secara sederhana, fitment ini adalah fitment dimana ban yang dipasang pada velg ukurannya cukup tebal, seperti penuh daging dan gemuk, karena itulah julukannya meaty fitment.

Meaty fitment menjadi cocok untuk harian karena beberapa hal. Pertama, meaty fitment yang memiliki ban tebal membuat velg lebih aman karena bantalan yang tebal mampu melindungi velg dari lonjakan di jalanan, mencegah velg mengalami kerusakan.

Lalu, karena bantalan yang tebal dari ban, maka pengendaraan akan lebih nyaman. Hal ini tidak bisa direplikasi dengan suspensi karena peredaman ban dan suspensi sangatlah berbeda.

Ukuran ban meaty pun beragam karena perlu diingat, tebal dinding ban ditentukan berdasarkan persentase dengan lebar atau aspect ratio. Secara umum, ukurannya sekitar 100 milimeter atau 10 cm.

Bannya juga bisa menentukan tampilan meaty ini. Umumnya, para penggila otomotif seringkali memilih ban semi-slick seperti Accelera 651 Sport yang tampilannya gagah dan tentunya ukurannya sangat meaty.
